Our Story

Majestic Smiles is more than just a Business!

We are more than just a dental team!

We care about more than just teeth!

As a new, enthusiastic Dentist, our founder, Dr. Raechell-Ann Barras, often found herself in a moral dilemma; day in and day out, she’ll meet that one person, who, despite doing everything they can, would have to settle for the smile that makes them unhappy, or suffer at the demise of poor oral health, due to barriers like cost, uncertainty or lack of education. Being unable to assist those patients in a meaningful way through her job in private dental care, she signed up as a Dental Volunteer with the St. Andrew’s Settlement Dental Clinic in January, 2020. This non-profit clinic, organized by the St. Andrew’s Parish Church, gave her the platform to assist the persons of Majesty Gardens and environs by providing basic dental care at little to no cost at all. It didn’t take too long for Dr. Barras to realize that her work in the community was evolving into an opportunity to use her knowledge and expertise to fulfil her Spiritual Ministry.

We first started with a need to FILL IN THE GAP in the Kingston Dental Market.

When the pandemic made it’s mark in Jamaica in March 2020, the gap widened; there was a greater need for Affordable Dental Care. In these modern times with greater access to information,

PATIENTS WANT MORE!

ITS NO LONGER ACCEPTABLE TO BE MEDIOCRE.

In February 2021, Majestic Smiles Dental Clinic began its operations with the the support of the board of Directors of the St. Andrew’s Settlement including Ms. Tricia Daley, Dr. Shera Grant and the late Ms. Greta Bouges. We are here to enhance and continue what has already been done for the past 25+ years. We offer comprehensive dental care, in a manner that is more consistent and sustainable to extend the services of The St. Andrew’s Settlement.

Our Mission

  • To give more than Basic dental services, providing our patients with options

  • To provide the BEST without compromising the quality of our work, even though it may cost our patients LESS than most other private clinics.

  • To Inspire and motivate patients and the wider community to make wiser decisions about their oral health

  • To educate and empower persons by providing the knowledge and tools needed to manage their oral health needs and to show that good oral health is essential for general health.

  • To foster healthy, life-long relationships in and around our community

We Were Founded Upon These Pillars:

  • Compassion

  • Transparency

  • Accessibility

We truly believe that high quality dental care should be accessible to ALL.

We are determine to break down those barriers that, too often, get in the way of many persons accessing the care they need to maintain their oral health. We didn’t just want to be another dental office that dealt with just teeth… We wanted to create a safe space, for ANYONE, regardless of Age, Race or Financial Status, to have their concerns attended to in a very transparent and affordable way.

HOW DO WE DO IT?

We made the investments in the technology!

By investing in modern dental technologies like Digital X-Rays, Computerized Dental Records and Intraoral Scanners, we are able to work more efficiently and responsibly, allowing us to save on some of the exhaustible materials needed, so that we can pass those savings onto you!

We stay current!

Our team stays up-to-date with the latest practices which allow us to tend of wider range oral health needs, widening our scope!

We are efficient!

By being efficient with our systems and our materials, we are able to deliver the best to more in a timely fashion, so that we’re able to reach more!

We educate!

Prevention is better than cure... its also cheaper! We have found, that by equipping our patients with the “know-how” to tend to their basic preventative needs, they can then save towards their wants, like having their best smile!

We believe in giving back!

It is part of our founder’s spiritual mission to be of service to others, and by exercising her God-given talents, we are ABUNDANTLY Blessed. We work very Closely with the St. Andrew’s Settlement to provide care for the most vulnerable.
